Established in 2021, Focus Town Planning provides personalised and client-focused planning services to the development industry, local and state government, and the general public. Our team of three experienced planners is committed to excellence, offering a broad range of planning and project management services tailored to meet the unique needs of every client.


At Focus Town Planning, we specialise in delivering innovative solutions to complex planning challenges. We are dedicated to achieving quality planning outcomes and fostering strong relationships with clients, project teams, and statutory authorities.

We prepare and lodge Development Applications for projects across NSW.

Strategic Planning

We provide strategic planning services including the preparation of Planning Proposals to facilitate the rezoning of land for future urban development.

Government Services

Government Services

We provide services to Local and State Goverment including independent assessments of Development Applications and the processing of Planning Proposals.

Marion Lourens


Marion has more than 25 years’ experience extending across the local government, state government and private sectors.  


Prior to establishing Focus Town Planning, Marion was employed in the private sector for 11 years in senior planning roles. She has also previously worked for state and local governments in NSW, Queensland and the United Kingdom. 


She has a strong focus on working with clients to achieve development outcomes through problem solving, negotiation and consultation.  


Marion's role at Focus Town Planning includes the provision of a wide range of services including Site Acquisition, Planning Due Diligence, Project Management and NSW Land and Environment Court Representation.

Rean is an experienced Senior Town Planner with wide ranging experience in the planning of development in New South Wales. 


With over 18 years’ experience gained in both statutory and strategic capacities within the Private Sector, Local Government and State Government. Rean has been involved in all facets of urban planning including development assessment, development applications, policy formulation, land rezoning / planning proposals and the provision of planning and support services.


Rean has most recently supported various NSW Councils with independent assessments of Development Applications and the processing of Planning Proposals, including reporting to elected Councils and Planning Panels.
